On July 26, a significant development occurred in the investigation into the Pune Porsche accident of May 19, as the Pune police filed a 900-page chargesheet in court. This document names seven individuals allegedly involved in a conspiracy related to the tragic incident.
According to the police, Dr. Halnor, following instructions from Dr. Taware, is accused of tampering with evidence by disposing of the teenager's blood sample and replacing it with that of the minor's mother. This alleged manipulation was intended to mislead investigators regarding the teenager's blood alcohol levels at the time of the crash.
Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar declined to provide detailed descriptions of the individuals' roles but confirmed that all the accused were involved in a coordinated effort to tamper with evidence and influence the investigation through bribery.
Public prosecutor Shishir Hiray characterized the chargesheet as thorough and detailed, highlighting the significant evidence collected so far. The charges, which fall under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, the Prevention of Corruption Act, and the Motor Vehicles Act.
