Omicron Variant Update: Unvaccinated Are More Likely To Be Infected

On December 2, a 66-year-old South African pharmaceutical company employee and a 46-year-old Bangalore doctor were diagnosed with the omicron virus for the first time in the country.

A 46-year-old doctor with an Omicron infection was admitted to a private hospital in Pommanahalli, and five people, including his wife and two daughters, were diagnosed with Coronavirus. Following this, five people were admitted to the hospital and were receiving treatment. His 5-year-old daughter was discharged from the hospital yesterday after recovering from an infection.

In this case, the 46-year-old doctor's examination revealed that he had recovered from the Omicron. At the same time, it was confirmed that he had a corona infection again. He had been isolated and was completely under supervision. 

An American scientist who studies the Omicron virus says that this Corona variant, which originated in South Africa and spread to many countries, is one of the fastest spreadings. However, it is not as serious as the Delta variant.

Although the highly contagious Omicron virus does not cause very serious illness, patients are more likely to be hospitalized. But he said the mortality rate would not be very high. It is said that Omicron viruses are more likely to infect muscles. It has a greater impact on those who are not vaccinated and can cause severe symptoms, such as fatigue.
