Man Arrested For Running Fake Court For 5 Years In Gujarat

A shocking incident has come to light in Gujarat, where a fake court allegedly operated for five years, from 2019 to 2024, passing judgments and producing fake legal documents. 

The Ahmedabad police have registered an FIR against 37-year-old Morris Samuel Christian, a resident of Gandhinagar, for criminal breach of trust, cheating, forgery, and providing false information to government officials. Police arrested the man on October 22 for allegedly operating a fake court and issuing an order related to a land dispute in Gujarat.

The revelation of this fake court occurred after a man named Babjuji Thakur approached a real court, claiming ownership of government land in Baldi. Upon investigating his claims, the legitimacy of the court he had previously engaged with was called into question, leading to the discovery of Morris Samuel's fake court.

In a complaint filed by Ahmedabad Civil Court judge Hardik Desai, it was revealed that the situation escalated following discussions with City Civil and Sessions Court Judge JL Sowadia. Thakur had presented compelling evidence to support his claim of ownership of government land, triggering a more thorough investigation into the matter.

It was uncovered that Morris Samuel Christian had allegedly impersonated a judge, setting up a fake court with assistants and lawyers to create the illusion of legitimacy. Reportedly, he had fraudulently transferred government land to Thakur in 2019 using a forged deed, leading many to believe in his fake judicial authority.

Local police disclosed that Morris had built a reputation for "resolving" disputes, deceiving the public for an extended period. The authorities are currently conducting ongoing investigations into this matter.
