Sugandh Sharma Video:
In a recent video, she claimed, “If North Indians start leaving Bengaluru, the city will look empty. The PG owners will lose their income, and who will dance to Punjabi music in Koramangala pubs? The charm of Bengaluru would be entirely lost without us. Kannadigas should understand this before asking us to leave.”
Kannada Celebrities Comments:
Her comments quickly went viral, attracting considerable backlash from netizens and prominent Kannada celebrities, including actors Chandan Shetty, Chaithra Achar, Anupama Gowda, and Bigg Boss stars Rupesh Rajanna and Dhanraj.
Actress Chaithra Achar responded to it in the influencer's comment section stating, “If you can actually leave, just as an experiment, and see how Bangalore becomes empty, we are ready to live with that emptiness and dancers less pubs. We can live with it. Really. Forget all other North Indians. You leave ma'am, enough for now.”
Varsha Bollamma added shortly, “Please leave.” Anupama Gowda echoed similar sentiments, stating,“If you think this is cool, nope it isn't. You need Bengaluru more than anything else and you leaving Bengaluru doesn't make any difference to our OORU and for a fact that we all know you can't leave Bengaluru - If you know you know.”
The controversy triggered the ongoing discussions about migration, cultural identity, and community in Kannada.
