Kolkata Doctor Rape Case Update

Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a speech in the historic Red Fort on the Independence Day and addressed the recent RG Kar Medical College doctor's rape and murder which sparked nationwide outrage. He stated that the government should take decisive action against the growing menace of atrocities against women in India.

Modi On Kolkata Doctor Death:

Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi on the 78th Independence Day delivered a speech on Red Fort. There Modi expressed his deep anguish on the Kolkata doctor death case saying, "I would like to express my pain once again, from the Red Fort today. As a society, we will have to think seriously about the atrocities against women that are happening, there is outrage against this in the country. I can feel this outrage."

The Prime Minister's words reflected the national anger and called on all levels of government to confront these issues with urgency and seriousness.  Modi emphasized the critical need for swift and strict investigation of such crimes, underscoring the necessity of imposing strict punishments on the accused. He highlighted that this approach is important to restoring societal confidence and ensuring justice for victims. 

"Speedy investigation of crimes against women, those executing these monstrous deeds be awarded strict punishment at the earliest - this is important to instil confidence in society," he stressed.

In addition to that, Modi urged for more extensive media coverage of the consequences faced by those convicted of such heinous acts. He also criticized the media for focusing on the crimes themselves but failing to cover the punishments of the accused. 

According to Modi, is to instill a fear of the harsh consequences of such crimes. "I think it is very important to instil this fear," he asserted, indicating that this fear could act as a deterrent against future crimes.

78th Indian Independence Day:

On this day, India should be celebrating its 78th Independence Day, but the nation is mourning the death of a doctor from RG Kar Medical College. In Kolkata and nationwide, women are protesting for freedom and safety on Independence Day.

Kolkata Doctor Death:

The rape and murder of a junior doctor at RG Kar Medical College Hospital has sparked nationwide outrage. The 31-year-old doctor was raped and killed inside the hospital's seminar hall. Due to the brutality of the case, doctors and students have started a protest to demand justice and a safe working environment. 

The police have arrested a suspect in connection with the case, but there have been many twists and turns in the Kolkata doctor rape case. Currently, the CBI is handling the case, and people are awaiting the judgment, expecting the perpetrators to receive the death penalty.
