Kolkata Doctor Rape Case: Nationalwide Doctors Protest Shakes

Nationwide doctor and student protests are still ongoing in response to the medical student's death at RG Kar Medical College student death. In Kolkata, women have organized a midnight protest in support of women's independence.

Kolkata Women Protest:

The protest, called "For Women's Independence on the Midnight of Independence," is scheduled to begin at 11:55 pm tomorrow. Posters with the protest locations are being shared on social media, with new spots being added as more people join from across the state and suburbs. Men are also planning to participate in large numbers to show their support for the cause.

Prominent figures such as actors Swastika Mukherjee and Churni Ganguly, as well as filmmaker Pratim D Gupta, have urged people to join the midnight gathering at the most convenient meeting point.

Kolkata Doctor Happy Moments:

The 31-year-old student from RG Kar Medical College student spent the day of the heinous crime with her colleagues, cheering for Neeraj Chopra. Later, she finished a call with a friend around 1 am, had dinner, and then went to take a quick rest in the third-floor Seminar Hall of the pulmonology department during her 36-hour on-call duty.

Kolkata Doctor Rape And Death:

The following day, the 31-year-old was found dead half-naked with injuries on her body. This case has shaken the whole country as the brutal rape happened in the hospital building. This created a public outrage, and due to this students, doctors, and nurses across the country entered the protest. 

In response to that, police arrested Sanjay Roy, a civic volunteer, in association with the case as he was caught entering and exiting the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.
