Kolkata Doctor Rape Case Update

The parents of the Kolkata doctor who was raped and murdered in the RG Kar Medical Hospital accuse the West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee of trying to stop the protests. A paper from her diary was handed over to the CBI said the victim's father.

Public Opinions:

The West Bengal CM, Mamata Banerjee, stated that the accused will be arrested as soon as possible and assured to bring justice to the deceased Kolkata doctor. However, many have accused the government of not handling the case well. The Calcutta High Court even criticized the government, leading to the Kolkata Doctor rape and murder case being handed over to the CBI from the Kolkata Police.

Kolkata Doctor Parents Interview:

As the accusations against the government spread widely on social media, the parents of the doctor also voiced out this in an interview with a private channel.

In the interview, the parents initially trusted Mamata Banerjee but later lost faith. They are not satisfied with how the Kolkata Police initially handled the case. The doctor's father expressed his distress by saying, "She claims to seek justice, but what actions is she actually taking? She has the authority to address this issue but is doing nothing," and mentioned that the CBI was investigating.

Kolkata Doctor Diary:

The Kolkata doctor's father also mentioned giving a paper from the diary of a junior doctor at RG Kar, but its contents have not been revealed. He questioned the sincerity of those publicly calling for justice, pointing out that individuals raising "We want justice" slogans at a recent football match were suppressed by a lathi charge.

Kolkata Victim's Mother Statement:

The mother of the victim continued to express her concern about how they were initially informed of the doctor's death. She openly accused Mamata Banerjee, stating, "I think the chief minister is trying to stop the protests. That’s why police enforced prohibitory orders today to stop the assembly of protestors."

The Kolkata doctor's mother expressed anguish about how they were being manipulated into believing that the heinous crime as a suicide. She said, "First we got a call from the hospital that your daughter is sick, after which the call was disconnected. Soon after, when I called and asked what happened, they told me to rush to the hospital. When we called again, the (caller) identified himself as 'assistant super' and said your daughter has committed suicide."

The management of RG Kar Medical Hospital then caused a lot of delays, making the parents of the Kolkata doctor wait for hours to see the deceased body. "She went to duty on Thursday, we got this call on Friday at 10:53 am. When we reached there, we were not allowed to see her, we were allowed to see her at 3 o'clock. Her pants were open, there was only one piece of cloth on her body. Her hand was broken, and blood was coming out of her eyes, and mouth. Just by looking at her, it seemed that someone had murdered her", said the mother.
