Kolkata Doctor Rape: Accused Molested Another Girl Before Crime

The main accused, Sanjoy Roy, in the RG Kar Medical College Junior doctor murder case has admitted his crime. According to sources, he revealed that before the Kolkata crime, he and his friend molested a girl in the street.

Sanjay Roy, allegedly arrested for the rape and murder of the Kolkata doctor who earlier claimed he did not commit the crime, went through the process of a Polygraph Test.

Sources say during questioning, Sanjay Roy provided details of his activities on the night of the crime and admitted to visiting two red-light areas and molesting a girl hours before the crime. 

It is said that on August 8, Sanjay Roy arrived at RG Kar Hospital with his friend to visit his friend's brother, who was admitted in the hospital. Then, at 11:15 PM, Roy and his friend left the hospital and purchased alcohol. Then ended up drinking it on the road. 

Following that they then went to Sonagachi, a red-light area in north Kolkata, but ended up not having sex. They then visited Chetla, a red light area in South Kolkata.

While travelling to Chetla, he admitted that they molested a girl on the road, which was caught on the surveillance camera. Sources say in Chetla, his friend had sex with a woman while Roy stood outside and talked to his girlfriend on a video call. Sanjay Roy also admitted that he asked for nude photos of his girlfriend over the video call.

Sanjay Roy and his friend went back to the hospital. In this case, Sanjay Roy headed to the trauma centre on the fourth floor. On the day of the crime, at 4:03 AM, Roy was captured on CCTV footage walking to the corridor near the seminar hall on the third floor which turned into the major evidence of the case.

Sanjay Roy entered the seminar hall where the victim was sleeping. There he committed the crime, strangled her to death, and escaped the scene. It was confirmed through their call data records (CDRs) that Roy and his friend were present at all mentioned locations.

Sanjay Roy, 33, was arrested by the Kolkata Police on August 10, a day after the body of the 31-year-old postgraduate trainee doctor was found in the seminar hall of RG Kar Medical College. A Bluetooth device found near the medic's body led to Sanjay Roy's arrest.

It was also discovered that a significant amount of pornographic content with violent scenes was found on Sanjay Roy’s mobile phone.
