CDS Gen Bipin Rawat Chopper Crash In Tamil Nadu Explained In Detail

Thirteen commanders, including CDS General Bipin Rawat and his wife, were killed when a military helicopter crashed while travelling in a Kattery area near Coonoor in the Nilgiris district.

Only Varun Singh, a professor and group captain at Wellington Military Training College, survived the crash. He is being treated at Wellington Military Hospital. The detailed cause of the chopper crash will be discussed today in Parliament.

Because Coimbatore lacks a radar capable of low-altitude mapping flights, the Chopper's movement was not tracked. The death of Bipin Rawat, the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Tri-Forces, in a helicopter crash has shaken the entire world. The condolences are pouring on social media from all the countries, including Pakistan.

According to reports, CDS Gen Bipin Rawat and wife Madhulika depart from Delhi on an IAF Chopper at 8.47 a.m. on Wednesday. They landed at Sulur IAF station, which is about 19 kilometres from Coimbatore, at 11.34 a.m.

The Chopper carrying Bipin Rawat, his wife, and the other soldiers took off at 11.47 a.m. for Defense Services Staff College in Wellington, near Coonoor, where CDS Gen Bipin Rawat was scheduled to address faculty and students.

By 12.22 p.m, the Russian MI 17 V5 double engine chopper crashed in the Kattery woods, less than 20 kilometres from Wellington, and burst into flames. Later today, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is scheduled to brief Parliament on the tragic crash. 

By 12.45, the Fire service reached the chopper crash spot, followed by the military officials. And the rescue operation was made, but there was trouble in quick rescue as the Chopper kept burning. By 6.03 pm, IAF confirms the death of 13, including the CDS Gen Bipin Rawat.

MK Stalin, the chief minister of Tamil Nadu, will pay tribute to General Bipin Rawat and 12 others at the Wellington Military Hospital in Coonoor.

The Pakistan Army has expressed its condolences over the death of the Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army, Bipin Rawat, in a helicopter crash. 

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Wednesday mourned the demise of India's first Chief of Defence Staff, General Bipin Rawat, in a helicopter crash in Tamil Nadu.  "My deep condolences on the deaths of Indian Chief of Defence Staff General Rawat, his wife and colleagues who perished in today's tragic accident," Blinken said.

US Indo-Pacific Command extends condolences on the demise of CDS Bipin Rawat and 12 others who died in the chopper crash in Tamil Nadu. 

An investigation by forensic science laboratory officials has been processed in the helicopter crash location. The advanced activities will be quickened to clarify whether any other cause might have made the chopper crash.
