A 29-year-old woman in Bengaluru cut into more than 50 pieces and stuffed into a refrigerator at her home in Vyalikaval. This news came to light on September 21, and the murder is suspected to have happened two weeks before the finding.
Who is the Victim?
The victim of the Bengaluru murder case has been identified as Mahalakshmi, a native of Nelamangala on the outskirts of the city. Mahalakshmi was a divorced woman and had a 4-year-old child with her ex-husband. She is reported to be living alone in the apartment in Vyalikaval and working in a mall nearby.
Bengaluru Mahalakshmi Case:
According to sources, the issue came to light after the residents of the apartment complained about the bad smell coming from a specific unit. The tenants complained the same to the apartment owner. In response to that, the owner contacted Mahalakshmi, but there was no response from her end. At this time, Mahalakshmi is reportedly not answering any calls from the family.
It is reported that Mahalakshmi's sister and mother visited the apartment in response to the owner's complaint to check on her. Upon unlocking the apartment, they found it in a messy state with a lot of insects. Their family members were shocked by flat conditions with worms and foul smells. Upon opening the fridge, they found Mahalakshmi's body parts cut into pieces and stuffed inside it.
It has been reported that Mahalakshmi's neighbours entered her apartment after noticing the crime, and they immediately notified the police and registered the complaint.
The police sent Mahalakshmi's body to the morgue, where it was determined that she may have passed away two weeks prior. This case of Mahalakshmi in Bengaluru has gained widespread attention as it occurred in a city apartment.
The Suspects Of Mahalakshmi Case:
After finding out about Mahalakshmi's death, her husband reported to police that he suspects a person who was allegedly in a relationship with her even though she was married to him. He mentioned that he had even filed a complaint against the salon shop worker who sabotaged the relationship with her.
In this situation, it is found that Mahalakshmi has filed a complaint against both her husband and "alleged boyfriend". She filed a domestic violence case against her husband and a blackmail case against a salon shop worker.
Police Investigations:
The police are conducting a thorough investigation from all possible angles to uncover the truth behind the murder. They have detained a salon shop employee for questioning in relation to the case.
According to the police, numerous individuals may be involved in the crime as multiple fingerprints have been discovered in the refrigerator.
Home Minister Response:
In response to the gruesome murder, Karnataka's Home Minister, Dr. G. Parameshwara, expressed that while some information has been gathered, it cannot be disclosed at this time. He assured that those responsible for the crime would be apprehended soon.
“Already some information has been collected, which I cannot reveal now, but we will soon nab those involved in it ... an individual -- they say is the one (involved), but unless we have more information, we can't really confirm. He is from West Bengal, they say. As early as possible, we will secure (those involved),” the Home Minister said.
Additionally, the prime suspect in the Mahalakshmi murder case has been identified but has not yet been captured. The suspect is reportedly from another state but is currently residing in Bengaluru. The authorities are withholding further details to avoid aiding the accused.
“He hails from another state but is staying in Bengaluru. We can’t give more information as of now as it may help the accused,” Bengaluru City Commissioner Dayananda added.
