Assam Missing Girl: 13-Year-Old From Kerala Found In Andhra

The 13-year-old girl from Assam who had run away from Kazhakkoottam, Kerala, was found in a train in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, and she will be returning to Kerala. 

Assamese Girl Found:

The 13-year-old, Thasmit Thamsat, was found around 10:15 PM last night following a 38-hour search effort. The Malayalee Association representatives in Visakhapatnam spotted the girl on a train traveling from Tambaram in Tamil Nadu to Chittaranjan in West Bengal. 

A four-member team led by Kazhakkoottam Station Inspector Ranjith is on its way to Visakhapatnam to bring her back, and she is currently under the care of the Railway Protection Force (RPF).

Assamese Girl Train Journey:

The search began for the Assamese girl after a passenger reported seeing her on the Island Express, which was headed to Kanyakumari in early August 21 morning. The Assamese girl had gone missing on August 20 morning.

However, the Island Express operates between Kanyakumari and KSR Bengaluru City Junction. In this case, Tamil Nadu Police later confirmed that she boarded the train from Kanyakumari at Chennai-Egmore station, and then switched to a local train to Tambaram. 

From there, she boarded the Antyodaya Express to Visakhapatnam, where she was eventually discovered by the Malayalee Association representatives. 

Assam Girl Missing:

The 13-year-old girl from Assam was reported missing after an argument with her mother on August 20.  It is reported that her mother scolded her when she returned around 9:45 a.m., and Thasmit is believed to have left the house shortly after, taking a bag with clothes and about Rs 50.

Police intensified the search for her after she was spotted on Bengaluru-Kanyakumari Express. However, the girl was spotted in Andhra Pradesh and is currently under RPF Care. Preparations are underway to ensure her safe return to Kerala.
