Vettaiyan Review

Superstar Rajinikanth's much-anticipated Vettaiyan released in theatres on October 10, 2024, and has since received mixed reviews from the audiences.

Vettaiyan Plot:

Vettaiyan revolves around the mysterious death of a woman, with Rajinikanth playing the role of Vettaiyan, a cop determined to uncover the truth and bring justice to light. As he digs deeper, he uncovers dark secrets and faces various challenges along the way.

The movie delves into crime, mystery, and justice, but the question remains, Will Vettaiyan be able to unravel the truth behind the death? And, more importantly, will justice? is the rest of the story.

Vettaiyan Movie Review:

Vettaiyan had high expectations surrounding it, especially after director T.J. Gnanavel’s success with Jai Bhim (2021). The inclusion of Superstar Rajinikanth only added to the excitement, but the movie doesn't entirely hit the mark.

Vettaiyan's star-studded cast and their performances are one of the film's strengths. Rajinikanth as Vettaiyan delivers a performance that captures both intensity and charm. Despite the film's flaws, his presence on screen is appealing and adds weight to the film's emotional moments.

The characters of the movie Vettaiyan are well-written especially Rithika Singh and Faahadh Faasil. In the case of music, the background score plays a key role in keeping the audience engaged.

Vettaiyan offers a solid crime drama with a compelling mystery. The theme of justice and uncovering the truth resonates well with the audience.

The downfall of Vettaiyan is its execution. While the plot is interesting, the pacing and narrative choices weaken its impact. In the movie, there are some unnecessary "mass" scenes to hype the fans, but they turn out to be flaws. These interruptions break the film's flow and take away from the tension of the mystery.

The film runs a bit too long, with certain subplots that seem redundant. Even with such flaws, the movie was enjoyed by the audience, while for some it did not sit well. Overall, Vettaiyan is a decent watch for crime movie lovers and a one-time watch for the general audience.
