Varisu Producer Dil Raju Says Vijay Is Bigger Than Ajith

Varisu producer Dil Raju has explained why he said that actor Vijay is the number 1 star in Tamil Nadu.

Actor Vijay's Varisu is slated to hit the theatres for the upcoming Pongal festival. Directed by Vamsi, the film stars Rashmika opposite actor Vijay. Dil Raju, who is a leading producer in the Telugu film industry, is going to make his entry in Tamil with this film.

As Vaarisu is getting a grand release in Telugu, Dil Raju has been giving various interviews in the media there for promotion. In an interview given a few weeks ago, he said Vijay is the number 1 actor in Tamil Nadu. 

Producer Dil Raju said, "Vijay and Ajith's films were given the same number of screens in Tamil Nadu. However, my hero (Vijay) is a bigger star. So, I said, I want more screens for Varisu. How will you decide who the bigger star is? An actor's star power is decided by his theatrical revenue. Vijay's last five to six films did more than Rs 60 crore share in Tamil Nadu alone. Whether the film is a hit or a flop is a different debate. But they have been consistent. Thus, he is bigger than anyone right now."

Although it gave cheers to the Vijay Fans, this statement took Dil Raju a controversy. Thunivu Vs Varisu Clash turned out to be Vijay Vs Ajith.
