HYDRA Demolishes Nagarjuna N Convention Center, Actor Reacts

The HYDRA Agency began demolishing the N Convention Center in Madhapur, a prominent event venue owned by Telugu film star Akkineni Nagarjuna On August 24. This action is part of a broader effort by HYDRAA to address illegal constructions encroaching on water bodies and public lands across Hyderabad.

What Is Nagarjuna N Convention Center?

Nagarjuna is a prominent figure in the Telugu film industry and he owns the N Convention Center. The N Convention Center has been a popular venue for various events, including weddings and corporate gatherings. In this situation, The decision by the HYDRA agency to demolish the center is significant.

N Convention Demolition:

Nagarjuna N Convention Center demolition began in the early hours of August 24 with the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection (HYDRAA) authorities moving in swiftly to dismantle the property. 

Reason For N Convention Demolition:

The N Convention Center was alleged to have been constructed in the violated area of Thammidi Kunta Lake. This violation of environmental land use and regulations intrudes upon the Full Tank Level (FTL) area of the Thammidi Kunta Lake in Khanamet. 

According to sources, the FTL area of Thammidi Kunta Lake encompasses 29.24 acres, and the N Convention Center, which covers a total of 10 acres, was found to be in violation of several regulations governing land use and environmental protection. 

Nagarjuna's Response:

In response to the demolition of the N Convention Center, Nagarjuna has issued a statement expressing concern over the manner in which the demolition was executed.

Nagarjuna claims that the demolition was carried out unlawfully, in violation of existing stay orders and pending court cases. He highlights that the property in question is situated on "Patta land", and asserts that no part of the construction encroaches on the Full Tank Level (FTL) of the nearby lake.

Addressing this, Nagarjuna wrote in X's account, "Today clearly, the demolition was carried out wrongfully based on misinformation." 

According to Nagarjuna, a stay order had been granted against any prior illegal demolition notices related to the property. He claims that the demolition occurred without prior notice and was based on misinformation. 

Nagarjuna, who identifies himself as a law-abiding citizen, states that had the court ruled against him, he would have willingly complied with the decision and undertaken the demolition himself.

Actor Nagarjuna issues this statement to rectify any potential public misunderstandings regarding alleged illegal construction or encroachment. Nagarjuna plans to seek legal redress to address what he perceives as wrongful actions by the authorities, aiming to clear his name and protect his reputation.
