Meiyazhagan (2024) Movie Review Starring Karthi, Arvind Swamy

Meiyazhagan Review

Meiyazhagan starring Karthi and Arvind Swamy released in theatres on September 27 received mixed reviews from the fans. This slow-burn Tamil drama shows a peace-loving environment for the audience.

Meiyazhan Plot:

Meiyazhagan follows the journey of Arumozhi Varman (Arvind Swamy), who returns to his hometown after 22 years to attend a wedding. There, he encounters an innocent character (Karthi) who becomes central to Arumozhi's transformative journey.

As they develop a bond, the film explores how this reunion impacts Arumozhi's life, leading to a conflict with his past and the dawn of a new chapter.

Meiyazhagan Review:

After the successful movie 96 (2018), director C. Prem Kumar's next movie after a long break is Meiyazhagan.  So, this movie has its own expectations due to the 96's movie success and plot.

Meiyazhagan released in theatres received mixed reviews from the audience. Unlike recent movies, Meiyazhagan is a slow-paced movie and it stands out for its well-crafted characters and performances. The chemistry between Karthik and Aravind Swamy is a highlight of the movie.

In addition, Meiyazhagan's music, composed by Govind Vasantha, completes the emotional beats, while the cinematography enhances the storytelling.

However, the Meiyazhagan's lengthy runtime of three hours and its slow pacing may deter some viewers, particularly in the second half, where the plot begins to meander.

Overall, Meiyazhagan is a solid choice for fans of slow-burn narratives. It provides a refreshing alternative for those who need a break from the fast-paced movie.

Meiyazhagan Cast And Crew:

Meiyazhagan features a talented cast including Karthi, Arvind Swamy, Rajkiran, and Sri Divya. The film is written and directed by C. Prem Kumar, with music composed by Govind Vasantha. It is produced by Jyotika and Suriya.
