FIR Filed Against Director Leena Manimekalai For Kaali Poster

Leena Manimekalai, well known for poetry and documentary director, has directed several documentaries. She is currently making a documentary called Kaali. Its poster was released recently and caused a great stir on social media. Many criticisms and protests are staged against the director Leena Manimekalai. 

Many controversies come up after seeing a woman in a kaali costume with a cigarette in her mouth and a flag of the LGBT community in her hand. After the release of the Kaali poster, the hashtag arrest Leena manimekalai is trending on Twitter.

Explaining this, Lena said, "The film revolves around the events that take place one evening when Kali appears and strolls the streets of Toronto. If you see the picture, don't put the hashtag "arrest Leena manimekalai" but put the hashtag "love you Leena manimekalai. I have nothing left to lose. I want to remain with a voice that speaks without fear of anything. If the price is my life, I will give that too," she explained.

Following this, FIR was filed against director Leena Manimekalai in Delhi and UP for releasing an offensive poster for her Kaali film. It has also been reported that the IFSO unit filed a case against Leena Manimekalai. She is charged under IPC 153A and IPC 295A.
