Akshay Kumar said, "I apologize to the fans and my well-wishers. The reaction of every one of you has affected me greatly over the last few days. I will no longer recommend tobacco.

I respect your feelings and disconnect from my relationship with the tobacco company. I wholeheartedly withdraw from that ad. I have also decided to use the money I played in this ad for some other good cause. In the future, I will be very careful in my advertising choices and will listen to the love of the people instead. "
