Actor Suriya Thanked the TN Government for Cancelling Board Exams

Suriya thank the education minister for canceling the 5 & 8 standard board exams: Suriya thank the Tamil Nadu government and the education minister for canceling the board exams for the 5th and 8th standard students. Yesterday, February 4, the education minister announced the cancellation of the two exams for which the preparations were in full swing across Tamil Nadu. Surya, apart from being a successful actor, is also helping hundreds of students through the Agaram Foundation, was against the said exams.

In a tweet yesterday, Surya thanked them and said that he knew firsthand the difficulties of students who wish to continue education after stopping it for a while. He has expressed his views against the central government's proposed education policy in the past. He was both criticized and also praised for such opinions on the policy.

The said central government proposed education policy only wants board exams for the 5 and 8 standards. But it is only at the proposal stage and yet to be made into law and implemented across India. But Tamil Nadu government in September 2019 announced the board exams for the two standards. It is the only southern state to announce such exams. All preparations were in full swing for the past four months. Even last week, the education minister in a function in Chennai, confirmed of conducting the exams.

A. Raja, MP of DMK, spoke yesterday morning in the parliament that the proposed exams for the 5 and 8 students are against the RTE or the right to education act and also against the law. It is because already a law exists not to detain students in the same class until the eight standards. Also, many eminent educationalists and public representatives criticized the government against the conducting of the exams. 

Suddenly a meeting was conducted yesterday headed by the Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, and it was decided that the exams stand canceled. Whatever the reason, as Suriya thanks the government, thousands of students will also thank the government for not putting them into the hardship of writing board exams, as they do not even understand what it means.
