Zoho CEO Sridhar Vembu Invests In 2 Indian Manufacturing Firms

Zoho Corporation, a SaaS (Software as a Service) company has sponsored an unrevealed amount in the manufacturing companies Karuvi and Yali Aerospace as its part of the industry to improve deep tech manufacturing capabilities in India.
The Chief Executive Officer of Zoho Corporation, Sridhar Vembu, announced on May 29 that the company will soon start commercial production of power tools under a new brand, Karuvi. He invested in the two start-up manufacturing firms Karuvi as his goal matches with theirs to provide job opportunities in smaller towns and villages.
Karuvi:
Karuvi is a mechatronics company that designs, engineers products, and builds consumer and industrial power tools and other mechanical systems that are manufactured in India. The tools are considered user-friendly and affordable.
Karuvi conveys their goals in the industry by saying, "We aim to build a slew of machine tools that are precise and equipped with the latest advances in motor technology, material science, and electronics. Our smart tools offer connected play improving user productivity and making tool tasks automation easy and efficient".
Zoho Founder Sridhar Vembu said," Manufacturing and technology capabilities are critical to a nation's economic prosperity. For our country to gain in this area, conscious attention to building expertise that is currently scarce becomes necessary. Karuvi and Yali are startups that are not only innovating in their respective fields, but are also creating jobs and bringing technical skillsetto smaller towns and villages, which aligns with our philosophy."
Karuvi was created by Abdul Gafoor, the founder of a home appliances company, who encouraged Zoho founder Sridhar Vembu to manufacture hand-held tools in 2022.
The company on their website advised their tools including Cordered drills, Cordless drills, Saws, Angle grinders, and others. The website also shows the new tools from Karuvi will be updated soon.
Yali Aerospace:
In Addition to that, Zoho Co-Founder Sridhar Vembu has also invested in drone startup Yali Aerospace. Yali was founded by Dinesh, Anugraha, and Mathuravani in 2022.
Yali’s drones are user-friendly and allow users to access the technology for both civil and military purposes. The Thanjavur-based company is specialized in the area of drone solutions for medical, surveillance, and logistics globally. Now, Yali Aerospace's drones can carry a load of up to 7 kg, with a new model in the works to handle 50 kg of load.
